Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

Good to see the site back up again. Although if they force you to pay like the ad says on the homepage they can count me out.

Not much changes in the Connecticut landscape since RD went down...

Rockin Ron's All Request Saturday Night show is still the states best produced show in the state.
WCCC still can't figure out who they are or want to be.
WHCN is still the River but still sounds like a cookie cutter Clear Channel station.
And White Rich Connecticut Housewives still love WRCH. :D

Welcome back everyone!

WCCC is Classic Rock.
WHCN is Variety Hits.
WRCH is not your grandmother's Lite 100.5 with a lot of songs that are being shared between them and sister stations HOT 93.7 and 96.5 TIC.

We still have too many pirate stations - Spanish on 98.9 in Waterbury and 105.3 in the Hartford area, Caribbean on 101.7 and 103.3 in the Hartford area. Spanish Religious Pirate on 1620 in New Britain.

Scott, thanks for your comments! I will reword it... it does not say you will be forced to pay, haha... it says we "added a premium section". There will be a section for those who are interested in additional features. These boards will remain free. Hope that clears it up for you! Glad to have you back.

Wish I liked the music on Ron's show more, but I guess that's what happens when you "age out" of the demo the advertisers want. I remember when DRC-FM pretty much programmed by the seat of their pants. Now take a look at the staff listing on its website and there are about a dozen programming consultants listed. Must admit the station sounds great, very upbeat and hit-focused, but I miss the older songs and the occasional "wow" factor. But who am I to argue with success? Ratings have been very good to spectacular and there certainly seem to be more "legit" advertisers -- as opposed to bulk-buy medical scam/financial scam/charity scam peddlers -- than there were in the '60s/'70s-focused days.

I like music from the '60s, '70s and '80s. Too bad there's no station, either FM or satellite, with that sort of playlist. (Yes, I know DRC-FM still plays one '60s song every other hour -- always just past the bottom of the hour. Thanks for small favors.) I'd kill for a station/satellite channel that played hits from the British Invasion through the first half-dozen years of MTV.

Oh, and CCC has figured out precisely what they are: a tight-playlist classic rocker, differing very little from WAQY.
