Welcome Mike Kaplan!

First change:

An overnight DJ on weeknights (Johnny Windex).

The first time the end has had an overnight DJ in a few years (I believe Neal Martin was the last one circa 2004).

I really think "The End" has a talent in that lady that works evenings. She's relatable and seems well informed.

I really REALLY miss retro Sunday mornings though. Please bring back some 80s? Or better yet, flip into the 94/7 sound of Portland.

I stream that station online. I love how the DJs (or at least the PD) suggest new music and play album cuts from new artists. I am sad they have also made Entercom cutbacks however, eliminating nights and kind of *fibbing it* from 7-10 pm until Loveline.

"Fibbing" it is ALL Entercom knows how to do. What I hear is acts that were only TRULY hip a year ago.

KEXP (and KGRG) are the HIPPEST places for cutting edge NEW music today, right NOW. Not after some "research" is done with them and cautious airplay - NOW.

Think Death Cab For Cutie or Modest Mouse. "I Will Possess Your Heart" -Death Cab For Cutie, (awesome bass-chords and all, were played on KEXP LONG before KNDD) I'm surprised KRWM and KPLZ hasn't picked it up by now!....

You know what the sad part out of this is....whether or not you were a fan of no name, it's fairly obvious the guy had more talent in his left pinky than both the night girl and this overnight guy combined (both of whom made appearances on his show) So now they are on the air and he goes to bed each night trying to figure out how he is going to support a wife and 2 kids.

Should read: How to support a wife and two kids with a bad back...

I'm surprised no one has picked No Name up (even in another market) - he's extremely versatile and was very good in all of his different shows (weekends on the end, evenings on the end, the afternoon experiment, the morning alternative, the midday show, and his talk shows on KIRO). Each time slot he hosted, he had a different focus and persona. No one can claim that the afternoon experiment in way foreshadowed the morning alternative (which was, IMHO, his best show).

Now that making international calls is cheap, maybe they can hire Norman B again. ::)
