Welcome to the jungle, Philly?

Today, Jim Rome said Philadelphia will be picking up the Jungle soon. Usually, whenever Rome is about to pick up a new affiliate in a major market, he'll make a major affiliate announcement on a certain date. Any idea what station he'll be on?

Once Philly does join, Rome will be on all the top ten markets. If jungle expansion is inevitable, sit back and enjoy it.
______________

Nobody will listen, trust me

he will be on WPEN 950.....thats the good news....

the bad news is I can count on one hand the amount of people in philly who care about national sports and or dreadful interviews with national sports personalities.....ESPN radio doesn't didn't work, neither will Rome....

610 WIP in philly is THE most successful sports radio station in the country...why? because they know their audience as well as any station in the country....

I like Rome a bit, but he will not do well at all...WPEN will be carrying the Bruno show in the AM..with Tony's Philly ties, he may do ok...but Rome will not do well at all...

Re: Nobody will listen, trust me

Has anyone heard if it will be Bruno for 4 hours and Jim for 3 or vice versa? I think the choice of running Tony's entire show is the obvious one. By the way, did anybody listen today? Tony and Mark were at each other's throats over the Kanye West comments. It was intense. I called in during the break and talked to either Big Country or Craig Larsen and they said it was still going on and even hotter off-air.

Re: Nobody will listen, trust me

"At their throats" was probably the wrong choice of words but it was very passionate. The conversation was basically regarding whether or not Kanye West or somebody in his position would make a controversial statement just for publicity purposes and they were questioning whether or not his criticism of the President was legitimate or just to sell more records. I don't know about the off air comments but whoever answered said they have been going at it for the entire break. I don't think there's any hostility just two guys blowing off some steam.

That's comical. THE most successful? Hi. WEEI-AM Boston. The #1 sports radio network in America. By the numbers, bro.

Occasionally Tony and Andrew would get into it too. Tony would be yelling and then say he's not yelling. I've heard Tony and Mark go at it before. Didn't hear the Kanye West thing, or if I did it didn't sound too bad.
______________
