Welcome to town, Tommy BoDean.

Trades are reporting that Tommy BoDean will be taking the helm of WNOK. Great programmer and said to be a great guy. Should make things over there on Greystone more interesting.

They need something good to happen over there on Greystone. I hope that LJ Smith leaves him alone and lets him do something with that floundering mess called Clear Channel Communications.

From a couple of Clear Channel observers that are higher up on the CC food chain, the thought is that LJ is about as good as out the door if there are any conflicts between him and Tommy. Supposedly, BoDean has the ears of more important folks.

By and large, the reason there are so many old, rotting program director carcasses littering the highways leaving Columbia is because they all came into Columbia thinking they were going to show Columbia what to listen to and how to listen to it, that is, they thought that they'd come in and show Columbia what good radio was instead of taking time to know what Columbia was all about and then formulate a plan.
Toby did a better job than most. Other than him, JR is the only one I can think of that knew the market and programmed accordingly...and he did it better than anybody. I'm hoping Mr. BoDean comes to town with an open mind. I wish him well.

I agree with Scott, JR did a excellent job as PD. One can only hope the new PD will be left alone by LJ. CC Greystone is not far from the zoo. ;D

For the sake of "Good Radio" I wish Tommy well also... I just came back from South Carolina and for the first time for the most part I gave Columbia a hands down... This is the first time I was able to take a long trip with Sirius and with the exception of listening to 107.5 and WXRY it was Sirius all the way... CC1
