WELI - new local afternoon talk show

I heard a promo this afternoon on WELI for the new Tom Scott and Ryan show, from 5 - 7 p.m., starting Monday.

Tom Scott is a former state senator with talk show experience at WELI and WPOP. Ryan (Gorman) is Jordan on WKSS's morning show, and he will continue his morning co-hosting duties, according to All Access.

Sounds like its gonna be a train wreck. From hearing him on KISS in the Morning Jordan seems to have the IQ of a doughnut. (Slightly above stuntboy Walmart Jeff's IQ)

LOL
Read the press release.
Tom sums things up in one sentence. Well said BTW.
Ryan / "Jordan" babbles on and on for 2 paragraphs! Ego.
Tom will (if not already) HATE him
hahahaha

Dont be to sure of that, You have to Remember Jordin is just a Side Kick on the morning show, Being dumb might be what his role actually is. " A wise man plays a fool for reasons of his own".

Yeah, maybe he's just there to make Courtney sound smart

If thats the case he isn't doing a very good job!
She sounds like an idiot.
Anybody who constantly mentions how she "never reads" "hates reading" should be ashamed of herself.

But getting back to the original topic....I have a feeling that Ryan will annoy Tom Scott pretty much from day one.

We'll see tomorrow won't we.

Does anyone plan on listening....or will you give it a few days to sorta let it gel...or will you never listen?

I gave 'em a shot yesterday....Tom was burried under a music bed to open the show mic mix for Ryan was awful. Tom is very quiet and laid back while Ryan SHOUTS! It was difficult to listen to.
They didn't know their own website addy....Sounded like somebody didn't edit the Rell interview which was pre-recorded and aired with glitches (sounded like a cd skipping) at one point Rell says she's looking forward to being on their show....OOPS!
By the way did you know that Ryan is only 24 years old...I know BECAUSE HE MENTIONED IT LIKE 5,000 TIMES!
Anyway I could go on, and on but, I will wait maybe I'll give them a shot in a few weeks.
Honestly I doubt I will but who knows.
Anybody else have any thoughts?
Just curious.

Ryan must be following in Todd Schnitt's footsteps. The guy hosts a morning show on the CHR in Tampa as "MJ", then doubles as "Todd Schnitt" in afternoons on the news/talk station in Tampa.

I hate to say it, but all you guys who hate Clear Channel and syndicated talk. Is this local show better produced than Hannity or Levine or Ed Schultz? Isn't this local talent far more interesting and funny than Stephanie Miller or Rush Limbaugh? Wouldn't you rather listen to these two than say, Rachel Maddow and KeithOlberman on Countdown. The 24 year old guy beats Larry King hands down, eh? 'cuz he's local grown and locally produced. You want local talent so bad - you got it. Give me Mark Levine at that time any day.

Please refrain from mentioning these two people together in the same sentence again.

It's an insult to Stephanie Miller...

It is insulting to Miller. It reminds everyone how she will never have the audience, the money, the influence, the gratitude of program directors nationwide for great ratings, or the devotion of an audience in the size Limbaugh has. She can make fun of Hannity all day - it will give her something to do while Hannity counts his money.

As a matter of fact, she joked about Hannity *and* Rush's new deals on the show yesterday!

But in all fairness, I think your statement is a little uneven: Rush has been syndicated for about 20 years now, Steph for just four. Is it her fault that conservative talk radio has had "the upper hand" over progressive talk radio during that time?

By the way, which two talk personalities are on the cover of the latest issue of Talkers magazine? (Hint: Rush is not one of them...)
