Well finally something good ESPN...

I am attacked for being negative, well here you go. Today the Irvin show did a great job covering the Pacman story. From getting the Lt. from the police station to having Calvin W. on to answer for blowing the story, along with Ed Werder from the Ranch. Even got the audio right away from Tank Johnson attack on Calvin. Great job to whoever produced the show getting the people who were in the middle of it on the air, as the story unfolded. I think Kevin is terrible, and was a jerk to the police official for no reason, and listening to Nate kiss their butts is very painful, and Irvin is almost unlistenable but the guest made up for it, and did a nice job telling the story while the Ticket was barely mentioning it, and talking about Homer call of the week. They finally got to it, but is was 2 hours after ESPN. Come on guys you are the Cowboy station, you should have been the leader on this one! A well produced show can almost over come the lack of talent on a show....Almost.

P.S. If you hear your talent saying something wrong over and over it is your job (Producer) to correct it, it was not a mirror it was a light fixture that was broken, somebody tell the "Filler show" on ESPN....had to be a little negative, when it is the truth 8)

In defense, it was reported as a mirror all last night and this morning. It wasnt revealed as a light switch covering until later in the day.

Reported as light Fixture on Irvin show called Mirror 70 times on the Estridge/Mosley Time waste which follows Irvin..Seems like somebody would have said something......
Not a big deal, but still annoying.

Well, ESPN may have had the Tank Johnson audio first, but The Ticket obviously had been talking about all morning. I'm glad BAD Radio didn't bump Homer Call for some audio that was hardly breaking news.

The ticket quite frankly is losing its relevance when 103.3 scoops them for a story....

2 questions...

How much did Mike and Mike in the Morning talk about pacman? The couple of times I tuned in yesterday morning, they couldn't be bothered to be talking about a story that the Dallas Sports station was all over.

And did they scoop them on a story, or on one minor detail of that story? Like I said, when I got in my car and started listening, the Ticket had the story longbefore I heard about it on ESPN.

They say perception is reality. My perception was that the Ticket was on the story before ESPN. Your mileage may vary.

But yeah, they're losing their relevance. So badly that KTCK doubles their ratings in the Men demos.

Little, quit riding the bandwagon already...My thing with The Ticket is they've lost their collective fangs and testicles since becoming the "offical radio home". The whole mike/corby dicussion on the issue was quite milquetoast and lacked any real meat, as they wanted to go back to focusing on community quick hits, entertainment news, pushing their upcoming QB challenge event or rhyner moaning about TX/OU weekend..I turned over and listened to hansen (God I cant believe I said that) as I wanted to hear a more though provoking dicussion on the issue. I agree with his view (story was a total non issue) and kept it there for the remainder of my errands.

The breaking part of the story was the fact that instead of just talking about what they think happened (Ticket) ESPN had people directly involved in the story on the air. Also, they were the first to find out that the time that Calvin reported was wrong, and that the police did not break up the fight, but that it was already OVER. (BTW: I think this is a big deal in this story) The Ticket is so interested in being Ticket that they have forgotten how to cover a real story. My point was despite the fact that Mike and Kevin suck, that somebody over there got the fact that this was a news story and stayed on it to bring new facts to the listener which was the right way to do it...

The Ticket just recorded the CBS 11 feed, which is the lazy mans way of handling up on a local story...why not go to Mickey Spagnola, he's on the payroll and he lives under Jerry Jones Desk anyways...

Well, if you want to be technical about it, ESPN jumped on it Wednesday day night as soon as it broke at 6:00. Hansen spoke a little on it, and then Greggo and Choppy talked about it.

Mickey doesn't say anything until the Cowboys tell him to. He is not a reporter, he is a team spokesman.

Doesnt he also do spin for Jerry when he's out with his many younger and very attractive "Lady Friends"?? ;)

All I know about who gets the scoops is that I receive texts from ESPN minutes and sometimes hours before The Ticket every single time a story breaks.

If I want sports I go to ESPN. If I want a talk show with some sports thrown in I go to The Ticket.
