salemjedi54 said:they could move the oldschool format to 97.9 and then make either 94.5 a gospel station, or like they are doing in Houston...FM ALL NEWS. Radio One is blowing up KROI Praise 92.1 for an all news station.

Gospel on FM would do well in this market. However Radio One has no commitment to gospel as a format.
97.9 The beat needs a complete make-over and a local morning crew.
RADIO like POLITICS is all LOCAL

If you have something that works on a rimshot signal, sometimes it's best to keep it there simply because it's working. After all, if you move it to a better stick, you have to find something else that will work on the rimshot!

Not exactly...
Praise is being moved to an HD2 on one of their other stations. If its like most gosphel formats its probably satellite anyway.
They have committed to Gospel in other markets, just not this one. Its sad that they are killing KROI down in Houston, but maybe they see they can make more money with all news. I wander how much they are making with Majic 102 and 97.9 The Box down there.
