Well, I finally did it...

I tried to cancel three months ago and they offered me three months for $13.95... then last night I opened my invoice and they wanted $60.37.

Three month's subscription: $38.95
Ability to listen online: $8.97
Invoice Fee: $2.00
US Music Royalty Fee: $5.94
Tax-State: $3.49
Tax-Federal: $1.12
Total for Three Months: $60.37
Cancelling XM Forever: Priceless!

Just wanted to let you know that I had the same problem but finally got my refund today. I live in Nortwest Arkansas and radio here is so bad I just could not let my XM go. They have junk up here to listen to.

It's not just Arkansas that has sub-mediocre radio; the St. Pete/Tampa market is in the top 20 nationwide and when the antenna for my unit in my car, died, I was just going to cancel that subscription........ that is until I listened the offerings on local radio; I was amazed at the commercial load; often had to wait 5 - 7 minutes for the next song, after a week of listening to the local tripe; I decided to hurry and get a replacement antenna for the car.

I coudn't agree more. I let mine run out at the end of September and don't regret it one bit. I now get all my music over the web be it Live 365, AOL radio, Shoutcast, Loud City, etc. It was great while it lasted, but once Sirius got their mitts on XM, I knew they coudn't resist screwing it up. The latest rate increase was the last straw.
