I'm in Dallas, Texas.

Sounds impressive to me on a Walkman.

I did not know that KDAY had an FM.

Old school I guess. Thought it was 1500 AM or close.

It's not the same KDAY. KDAY in the 80's was on 1580AM and said to be the first hip-hop station in the country.

In 2004, after beginning an LMA with SBS for the 93.5 Redondo Beach and Ontario frequencies, Styles Media replaced Spanish tropical "La Sabrosa" with a hip-hop format using the KDAY call letters (and KDAI for the Ontario transmitter). Styles initially received lawsuits over usage of the old KDAY's logo, but I believe that those have been settled.

The new KDAY is putting more of an emphasis on "old school" hip-hop than any other station in the country, and has been written up in TIME and some other publications as well.

Other than call letters, 93.5 KDAY has no connection to 1580 KDAY.

Also 1580 is now KBLA running primarily spanish language programming.

KBLA interferes with my reception here in San Diego of Radio Disney 1580 KMIK Tempe/Phoenix.
