Well... if this doesn't beat all...

Clear Channel is now using the WLOQ call letters to promote its BA-fed translator at 102.5 in Orlando / 107.7 HD-2.

Talk about disrespect... take the legendary call letters and use them to promote a satellite-fed station with zero local content and a music mix that just about everyone agrees has helped to destroy the format. On the other hand, perhaps this is a sign that they will start adding some local programming? One can only hope...

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. There is still a FB page up for the old WLOQ, which has over 1800 fans and I have gotten some listeners from. There is also a group of old WLOQ jocks doing an internet station and they call themselves Smooth jazz 103LOQ (it's an AOR, all over the road and not the best IMO). Now this.
