WBIG in DC is dropping Oldies for Classic/Variety hits. They will continue to call themselves Big 100. The changeover happens at 5pm Monday.....

Hmmm...was that also on its way down...or flat?
Just wondering.

As was, depending on who owns what in that market, the format(oldies) is still useful if it means that a company doesn't compete with itself...unfortunantly, this opinion may better apply to another market somewhere else in the States.

(Sorry, I'm not from DC, and I'm not aware of who owns what there, just referring to the idea of owning up to 60 percent of a market, and not wanting to have too much of the same to take away from a sister station...)
