Charlie Brown, well respected CT engineer passed away this past Thursday.

Here is a quote from John Ramsey on the SBE14 Facebook Page

It is with great sadness that I pass on the news of the passing of Charlie Brown. He worked at WPOP years ago, was with WTIC radio in the 70s/80s and 90s, and had been the #2 engineer at Clear Channel Hartford since the late 90s. I worked with Charlie on numerous projects over the years and you couldn't find a nicer or harder working guy anywhere. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I met Charlie up on West Peak in Meriden several years ago, then at a couple of SBE meetings. He was a good man and will be missed.

I worked with Charlie in the 80's when he moved from being the evening board op for Mark Davis on WTIC to engineering. Smart, funny and a good guy. Sad.

Charlie was a special kind of engineer because he'd been as involved in programming as any air personality. Coming from the production and technical producer side of radio, he really understood there's no tolerance for dead air, and just how fast things had to get back to 'normal.' Charlie was compassionate, extremely well spoken, and a fast learner.

I hate when such a good person dies too soon. And I hate it when they're younger than I am (by a year). RIP, Charlie Brown.
