Last week, I posted about Boston's WHDH 7TabloidNews sending reporter Dan Hausle to England to cover the Hopkinton, MA murders of a woman and her baby. The husband/father had travelled home to England around the time of the murders.
Well, WCVB, Channel 5, has sent a reporter (Sean Kelley) from their new "Team 5 Investigates" unit to Gaspar, Arkansas to cover the shootout involving a man who initiated a hate-crime shootout at a gay bar in New Bedford, Massachusetts. And...just as WHDH announced that "7News is the only station with a local reporter in England", WCVB Sunday anchor Bob Halloran mentioned that "NewsCenter 5 is the only station to have a local reporter in Arkansas".
By the way, that man (Jason Ribida?) who initiated the gay bar shootout in Massachusetts escaped as far as Arkansas where he became involved in a shootout there where he killed a police officer as well as his former girlfriend/travelling companion. Ribida has since died.
