WEMB/WXIS for sale.

It looks like WEMB 1420 AM and WXIS 103.9 in Erwin are for sale. A translator also goes with it. The brokers web site has "make an Offer" on the properties.
The studio and tower location for the AM look nice from the road. I haven't been inside so I don't know what the equipment looks like. Since they abandoned their previous formats
for sports programming one wonders what the stations are worth. Or what kind of offer would you make on it.

Radio Guy

I knew that those two format choices wouldn't work out and it would only be a matter of time before A). the format wheel would spin again or B). the owners would unload it and cut their losses and cash out.

Stupid and poor format choices since the formats are already covered by WXSM, WJCW and WFHG.

I was looking through the FCC files and in 2015 the owner passed away and left the stations to his children, (need I say More) Now they are accepting offers on the property. From what I have heard it isn't making anything at this time. No idea on what kind of income it has.

Just got off the phone with the owners. The stations are NOT for sale.

Also, Jim True, the owner you reference, whom Jet Broadcasting is named after, passed away in 1994.

Ratings are reportedly up five times from the previous formats.
