Actually, WEMG runs 579 watts day, 250 watts night. It's classified as a 1,000 watt station, but there's a special note on the license. The lower power is to protect Asbury Park without being directional. The tower is 201' tall, and is series fed. The transmitter is not in a swamp, but is on the edge of the Delaware River, so the ground conductivity is excellent. The transmitter is a BE AM1A (the last one they built), with the Continental that was in use before 1999 in place as a standby, although it's never been used since the BE went in.

WTTM's 10kw daytime at 1680 is Equal to about Running 5kw On a lower frequency
the 1kw at night on 1680 is like Running the 10kw during the day. It will Cover its city of license and then Drop out for about 50 miles... then Skywave will take Over and it will then Be Heard for Hundreds ,thousands of miles...
I just got a signal report from a DX,er the other day. he heard the station in Norway. Just before the move to Lindenwold.
With this new antenna Im not sure how the skywave will Behave...
Just Finished doing Field readings. and they look Pretty good.

I've been picking up the Radio Disney affiliate in Michigan on 1680 driving home recently so clearly that I thought that it was WTTM. The extended band AM's really travel during critical hours - the Iowa AM that carries Don & Mike comes in clearly most early evenings now, 1690 from Maryland booms in, also 1650 Disney from Norfolk area.

Great choices as the continuing world of AM programming expands are horizons.
What don't you or somebody research how many frequencies George Noory comes across in your area. I like to know the percentage (maybe 60% or more)? I'm sure it is where I'm at. I don't know why people get fascinated over that. I find it's worst then having "Cheers" or "Seinfeld" coming over your cable 20 times a day.

As soon as things normal out.. I will Finally get Radio T.E.D. Back on the air....
It goes something like this... Hello there. No your not hearing things.
Its just me You know that old radio sitting on the shelf. Seems someone has tuned us both into 1680 am..Yes thats right Im that Radio sitting in the Closet Begging for that old music that you rarely hear today. I'm Radio T.E.D. your Timeless Entertainment Device. I have no Idea of whats going to come out of me next. So Keep listening... Remember this one...."

Radio T.E.D. is an old time Tube radio with warm Heart( and Tubes) that will make you remember back in Time and bring a smile to your face...
