WEND Ratings

I think CC is trying to kill it. They play the same thing as they did in the 90s and they're no longer edgy. They could go Active Rock, but I think they won't do it, because that would cut into the Buzzard's territory in the Triad. WRFX is horrible too. I here the same Rolling Stones song "You can't always get what you want." Must be the theme song for CC.

It is amazing to see how CC Charlotte has really hurt a lot of once great stations... The Ends past owners really let the jocks put a lot of heart & soul into that station now when ever I listen to it on the web I just can't believe how bad The End has gone down hill... Maybe for CC they want The End tp come to "the end"... CC1

I thought that was the theme song for LISTENERS of CC stations ;D

It really irks me how CC strives to have an inferior station in a market cluster, just to "prop up" the remaining stations.

I don't think any broadcast company deliberatley tries to sink a station they own. The problem seems to be they either depend too much or research or mis-read what the research is telling them. There is a problem being too close to the station, I think it clouds the judgement of some (not all) folks who are in charge. There have been times when a PD would make some little change in the format and then ask me if any listeners called about it. The change was so small I'm sure no one even noticed or cared. I was amazed the PD would even ask.

People in radio have to learn that listeners are not hanging on our every word. With everything the average listener is doing while listening, they can't afford to. I love radio and hear most of what is being said but I realize everyone isn't just like me!

I've seen it happen in another market within the last six months. They call the station a "flanker" because it's the same format as the market leader that they own. The station in question has gone from a 4 share to a 1.9 since that move

It doesn't surprise me one bit to hear the name CC and "kill it" in the same sentence.....

You know when one company owns damn near everything and you have the economy of engineering, programming and other departments working for more than one station are ratings even necessary?

I think the big owners laugh at we who toil at their stations making peanuts.
