"KTU Gets Wild... Literally
That's Wendy Wild, who's been thrust from weekends into the blinding light of middays at Clear Channel's WKTU/New York, plugging the fissure created when Diane Prior exited in February. Wild previously worked at nearby WBLI/Nassau-Suffolk, including three years in nights, and she's been handling weekends at KTU and sister Z100 since 2006; thanks to that modern-day miracle known as voicetracking, she's also heard in middays on KC101/New Haven, CT and afternoons on KSYU/Albuquerque. "Middays at KTU... it's a dream come true!" Wild says. "I am forever grateful to [Market Manager] Joe Puglise, [SVP of Programming & Marketing] Tom Poleman and [PD] Rob Miller. This is an accomplishment for which I am very proud and thankful. Thank you for your guidance and support -- truly an astounding team. I love my KTU!"
RAMP immediately hit up KTU PD Rob Miller, who quickly whipped up his "top three reasons Wendy begged me to hire her full-time: 1) She wanted to play more Lady Gaga... as if seven or eight times a shift on the weekend isn't enough; 2) a new weekday commute time on the subway would allow her to see panhandlers instead of exhibitionists; and 3) why Facebook, Tweet and eat at home when you can come to work and get paid for it?"
Wild Fun Fact: Ms. Wendy is not just another pretty face and sultry voice -- she's actually also a gymnast and is tackling the flying trapeze. Seriously."
