I like to DX around the AM Band at night. I am curious as to why WENO leaves their transmitter on over night? I have noticed this over the past few weeks. It seems like an enormous waste of money. They completely block out WJR in Detroit.
And, since WHEW, Franklin, had its license deleted, how is it able to stay on the air? I even hear WHEW at night in Nashville. The sister station, WPFD in Fairwiew, also, had its license deleted. That station no longer on the air.
WHEW (or as the call sign is listed on the FCC Site, DWHEW) is probably the highest power pirate to ever broadcast in the Nashville area. And, I worry about the FCC nabbing me when I use my little CCrane FM Transmiiter to stream music to me when I am working out in the yard on the weekends. And, it only transmits about 100 feet.
