"Latin Assassin" has sadly fallen back into not mentioning the names of the songs and the artists during "The Top 7 at 7". Today, he only mentioned "Gucci Man" at #7. Then you did not hear a peep out of him for the remainder of the countdown. He mentions before the music starts that listeners are to write down the Top 7 to win a prize. So there's a good reason to mention titles and artists, along with giving props to those who are providing you with your Top 7 sons. It was more active and more entertaining when he had listeners call in and say the name of the song and artist... although I would prefer him to do it himself since the callers are sometimes hard to understand thanks to the generic phone line quality you get from the callers while they talk over music, to boot.
Maybe Mr. Assassin should voice track that segment in advance so if he has some other business to take care of during that half hour, he could do it and still provide the service. After all, the songs and artists that are at the top of your chart... ostensibly holding on to the audience better then all others... deserve to have their work mentioned, particularly during A COUNTDOWN SHOW where the power of the music is the focus, don't you think?
