WEOK and WALL's 1st anniversary as The True Oldies Channel

On Tuesday 2/22/11 WEOK and WALL will be celebrating its 1st anniversary as the TOC! There will be live and local "guest DJ's" on all day playing requests, etc. "Lightning Jack Hammer" will be on from 11-2, Suzy Garcia from 2-4, and Jeff Semancik from 4-6 with a Doo Wop show at 5. (If WEOK is still running the True Oldies Channel on 2/23/11, that means that this format has lasted longer than NewsTalk 13!!) ;D
 
WEOK and other stations like this should do this on a more regular basis. Whenever you have a small opportunity to offer a hint that there is "someone there" you take advantage. Especially when it costs the station pennies on the dollar. I would bet money long time WEOK staff like Chris Lucas, Tom Rooney, Lane Bajardi and Rich Stevens would loved to have been involved.
