WEOL/Elyria Fills Old AP Network News Hours With...

...Fox Sports Radio, according to AllAccess.com. AM 930 will run FSR in the night and overnight hours starting Saturday. AP Network News is going away for it and all other affiliates nationwide.

Damn. I wanted SNR - especially in the light of Kiley & Booms returning there on August 1st (presumably in Arnie Spanier's 7-10 slot...)

But at least Glenn Beck's presence will prevent Van Hurl (the God-awful Van Earl Wright) from being on ol'930. That's a plus. And it ain't CNN Headline News' TV audio, either...

Hate to reply to my own post, but...

...does anyone know if Jim Bohannon is staying in the 10p-4a slot on WEOL, trimmed to the live 10p-1a slot, extended to 5a, or will it be FSR all night long?

I'd like JimBo to at least stay, or have them make a run at Phil Hendrie in the overnight... just curious.

The AllAccess item said "nights and weekends".

Did AP Network News occupy any evening/night hours on WEOL?

WJMP reach Lorain County--even during the day?

HAHAHAHAHA!

I think it's nights and weekends because that's when WEOL has holes; FSR was probably cheap.

Indeed.

And heck, WJMP barely reaches parts of SUMMIT COUNTY during the day.

:D

Was just in downtown Akron at the Public Library and Akron University..while WJMP did come in, the signal wasnt nearly as strong as you would expect for a station located in Kent..Maybe 10-15 miles away?..This on a GE SuperRadio II.
Edited by TimL on 07/14/05 05:05 AM.

It did, whenever there were no Indians, Cavs, Blue Jackets, OSU B-Ball or high school sports - very rare, indeed.

The official schedule went:

3p-5p: Mitch Albom
5p-6p: AP All News Radio (w/ a heavy amount of local cut-ins)
6p-10p: AP All News Radio
10p-4a: Jim Bohannon
4a-5a: AP All News Radio

I'd guess the new lineup would go like this:

3p-5p: Mitch Albom
5p-6p: Local programming
6p-10p: FSR
10p-5a: Jim Bohannon
