WEPN 98.7 To Be Sold Next Year?

Doesn’t that really fudge the numbers. If I’m 500 miles away from home but listening to the radio shouldn’t the local station get the data.
No. The survey is intended to show what each market's residents do. And that is what advertisers want.

No. A full survey from Nielsen would consist of 10s of thousands of hours of listening. A single panelist, or even a household, going on vacation for a week would not meaningfully change that.

Imagine single traveler, like a business trip: Bobby travels to Philly and uses the radio 5 hours total. That would affect the ratings by much less than 0.1 share point, even if you assume Bobby listened only to WBEB-FM. If he listenedd to both WBEB and KYW, that dilutes his effect even further.
