WERC-FM calls back in Birmingham after 30 years

It's been more than 30 years since there was a WERC-FM in Birmingham, and now the calls are back once again on Birmingham radio. Talk 105.5's calls were changed to WERC-FM, effective Tuesday, 7/14, per the FCC website. Clear Channel will no longer have to quickly whisper "WVVB, Hoover/Birmingham" when doing the TOH ID. :D

I liked the original ERC-FM a whole lot better. I still remember the jingle like it was yesterday.

IMO, it sounds decent. They have a great programming lineup for people that lean conservative. My favorite show is Glenn Beck, and they have many other well-known hosts. They are really giving Crawford's 101 WYDE some real competition. For once, Clear Channel has built a real sucessful station in Birmingham.

CC has the more-popular hosts. If anything, CC is showing Crawford how FM News/Talk should've been done.
