Were the Dallas protests insued by Hispanic radio stations??

I heard 2 different stories but the ones I heard was that websites like "myspace.com" were co-ordinating the protests on Dallas City Hall.

And the other thing I heard is that Radio stations such as Casa 106.1 and La Preciosa 97.1 were going on the air informing the kids of the protests and the days to walk out of school.

But after I watched the news yesterday...one of the DJs from Casa 106.1...Domino is his DJ name....had gone on the air Tuesday during the protests telling the kids to stop and get back in school.

What I am wondering is...did radio stations that run spanish programming tell these kids to storm the City Hall and then later, told them to stop after they found out it was getting out of hand??

Yes and no. Yes> KNON. MY space contributed, emails, instant messenger and cell phones as well. I doubt 70% of the kids understood what the protest was about, and looked at it as an effort to "Look cool doing it"."Cut class"and BE ON TV.

What does "insued" mean? I presume you mean "inciteted" or something similar.

La Preciosa has no teen listeners. It is an adult oldies station.

And its programming comes 100% from Salinas, CA.

I would believe what you saw rather than hearsay. The Preciosa item sure proves that what you heard was bogus.

The only two Spanish language stations that have any teen listening are Kalle and Kasa. Both told the kids to stay in school.

Does KNON have Spanish programming? It appears all the programming is in English, although they have some Latin music shows, hosted in English.

Alot of the foreign language jocks(esp. the spanish) got in some serious trouble sometime back for speaking in their native tongue and plugging businesses, KNON managment read em the riot act concerning that and most now speak en ingles. I wouldnt doubt the "energy 89.3" bunch having their hands in suggesting these kids skip school.

Some colleagues said they heard it and some said they were told that some announcers did tell the kids to cut class. Be it in english or spanish, etc. I do not know
