Were there earthquake related problems at SiriusXM

Listening to some of the MLB broadcasts last night (8/23). None of them had the score scrolling on the screen. All that displayed was XM Channel 185...it was the same for all the channels carrying games.

Be more intresting to see what happens when hurricane comes to New Jersey/New York, Studios in New York City, and upload site in Nothern New Jersey. Will be very intresting this weekend.

Actually the Red Sox game on Channel 89 and the Yankees game on Channel 176 still had full data! I'm not making this up. I was listening to another game in my car and noticed only the channel number being displayed, so I checked out the other MLB PBP channels and MLB Radio's Channel 89 and saw that fans of "The Rivalry" were being cared for, but all those other teams, somehow, weren't worthy of a score display that night.

And shouldn't this entire thread be in the XM section of the Sirius/XM forum? The poor Sirius subcribers can't hear any MLB play-by-play, and we must be torturing them terribly with this discussion of what is or isn't on the display.

Sorry for a month late reply...

Yes, there were a few earthquake related issues w/ SXM facilities.
They closed the main XM office in DC for about 24 hours, following the earthquake, due to structural damage. Big crack in the wall. Only key personnel allowed in.
NYC office no damage. But you could definitely FEEL the earthquake on the 37th floor. My stomach turned and I felt extremely dizzy. Common experience.

Yes, Mel was making a big tall stack of American Eagle Gold coins on his desk and they all tipped-over on his desk on top of all his old termination papers for the XM on-air personalities and XM music program directors.
Mel had to start his gold coin stacks all over again....doggone it; good thing those pink slips were scattered all over his desk so his desktop wouldn't get all scratched up from the coins toppling - you know, just 16 coins weight a pound (and run you close to $20K - what Howie makes every day of the year x 365!).
