Congratulations to WERU! It doesn't seem possible it's been 25 years. I spent Saturday nights there for 5 1/2 years starting at the very beginning in May of '88. Met lots of nice people and have great memories.
Good article, but one minor correction. Their transmitter isn't in Orland, it's at the top of Blue Hill, on a large tower it shares with several other companies and government agencies. It overlooks the town of Blue Hill. It's a nice hike up there also, well-maintained trail, and in late July/Early August tons of blueberries!!! And a beautiful view from Penobscot Bay to Mount Desert Island.
Congrats WERU. Worked and volunteered there for over 10 years. My Mother and I were invited back to cohost our old time slot last Friday. Had a great time.
