WERV 95-9 The River

I'm getting WERV in load and clear up here this morning (around 1AM) Good DX. WDEK, WRZA and WJKL are also in. I am really enjoying it.

I've heard the station several times while in the area over the past 4 years but I didn't like it as well last time I heard it. I am noticing the processing is MUCH better then it used to be. I don't like it as well as I did when it was WKKD Kool 95.9 and Pure Gold 96, but am finding it to be not bad at all.

What are everyone's thoughts on this station?

Very well run, good sounding suburban property.

Fact...I'd say The River and Will Rock are the two best sounding suburban signals in Chicagoland.

I prefer the river over the drive anyday. I kinda get will rock where i live. Comes and goes. (Westmont/downers grove area). I do miss 96.7 will rock though. (Although the new star 96.7 isn't half bad.)

When was the last time you heard it? I don't think the processing has changed much since Chris Tarr left, but I noticed an immediate improvement in the audio quality when the switchover from DCS to Prophet occurred last fall. Perhaps that's some of what you're hearing.

I first heard the station in the 90s when it was oldies (I think satellite) as "Pure Gold 96"

I first heard The River in 2001

...well, I'll agree that they sound much better since the switch over to Prophet. I also love it when Weez (I think that's her name?) fills in for DeeDee. I think that she should just stick to being PD and let Weez do the afternoon show. She has much more energy and seems more personable than Dee Dee. What do you think?

Sorry, she is terrible and would not be able to get a job in a small medium market like a Champaign ... she does not belong on the radio in the Chicago metro.

Dee Dee is ok.<P ID="signature">______________

WoW! Can you be a little more harsh? Weez was on the old WCFL before it went back to WBGL. She was there for quite sometime I hear, and was even asked back when she tried to quit! So to say that she can't play with the big boys in a large market, is not right. Dee Dee is way to boring in my opinion.
