> One thing I hate about NH is the lack of CHR stations! 95.3 should go Hot AC and ERZ should remain CHR. They have been for years! 95.3 can't compete against WOKQ and WPOR and never will.

ERZ took on more of a HOT AC approach.

I think the main reason NH (and most small markets in general) lack true CHR's is that they're very tough to sell to Mr/Ms Downtown Merchant who tends to buy formats they either like or are popular with their customers (read: adults). Don't forget very few companies or agencies actively target 12-18 listeners, which is a very large percentage, if not majority of the overall CHR cume. Many stations take the multiple personality approach, where they tend to be AC/Hot AC days to get the workplace listening and CHR at night, when most adults use little radio. Our mutual previous employer WLNH was an example. Top that off with Radio Disney (and its family-friendly rep and lyrics)now on Cable,Direct TV, XM,etc making a CHR less in demand. As in most things, it comes down to money. Rock has similar billing problems in small markets, Alternative even more so.

We have a CHR, Rhythmic and Urban but no Hot AC! By the way, who are you? You mentioned our mutual previous employer? Shoot me a private email.

Say what??!! Most CHRs target 18-34 year olds. Adult Top 40 and hot A/C stations tend to target 25-54 year olds, with 25-34 year olds being their core.
