Have they found a way to do anything with the signal strength, especially at night? Station's fine by day...but hit about 6:00pm and they probably cannot receive the signal at their own studios.

Really, can you ever say anything without it being a slam against another station? Are you aware of FCC regulations on signal strengh? How long have you been in radio? Don't you think that if they could, they'd do something about it! It is what it is and they seem to be working hard to give the public good talk programming! That's what my previous post was about!

Who'se slamming? When they bought the station, they were quoted in the CDT as saying they were aware of the signal's limitations and they were planning on trying to address that. They did manage to fix the signal issues on 105.9 with the State College repeater, so how was I to know if they worked something out for BLF or not? It was a legitimate question.

I've heard that they are working on a fix. They've hired two hundred Navajo to come to State College and listen to the station. They will memorize the days programming and then, in the ancient oral tradition of their people, each tell fifty people what they heard on WBLF.

With a stock Ford car radio I catch 970 from just outside Huntingdon for the majority of my commute. On the low end of the band it goes far and no matter what time I travel I catch it. I doubt or hope the Steve would not be busting on the strength of the signal. The station he works for has limitations as do they all. FMs here deal with mountains that hurt the ERP of 13 miles or so, 970 on the AM goes further, to qoute Glenn Clark "FM doesn't go threw rock". I have been out of town for a week or so and cant wait to hear Wes. I am anxious to hear somebody take on local issues with the fervor I know Wes would bring.

Okay, I'm stumped. Who are these people you speak of?

Basically Jerry Fisher in the mornings, Dennis Miller 9am, Richards at 3pm. The rest of the schedule, they keep saying, remains the same.

City boy with thumb of black. I couldn't even grow a potato in a water glass -- like in 7th grade science.

Then I guess its Richards not Gardner. I guess no gardening and just topical lively fun radio! Whats planned for this week?

Unknown until I walk in the door. and sometimes not even then.

Allow me to shed the "Big Daddy" image for a moment, cats & kittens.

I've been catchin' this Wes Richards on WBLF and I must say he's the perfect addition to talk radio in Happy Valley! This man comes with a track record of experience and, best of all, he's local! Something that WBLF really needs.

I can't help it! I gotta say that this cat is the "bees knees", daddy! Wes is gettin' funky like a monkey 5 days a week and I'm so excited, I just can't hide it!!!!!

Ahem...I mean, kudos to you, Mr. Richards and to WBLF. Thank you and good day.
