Westminster Dog Show on USA then CNBC

This year the show starts on USA at 8pm then at 9pm - 11pm the show moves to CNBC because of WWE Raw. Then Tuesday night The Dog Show stays on USA Network without moving to CNBC. No WWE that night.

Is this a good move or bad move? My opinion I think its better for the show to stay on one network and not switch over half way. NBC Universial should just move the Dog Show to CNBC every year and take it off USA Network or they can give it to Animal Planet where I am sure they would love to have it. Not sure how this happened last year. I don't watch the show just thought I would make a post about this.

It would undoubtedly be better for the show to be on one channel straight through.
But really, what does it matter to us who don't care?

People with enough personal investment in the Dog Show to watch the dog show straight through will make the flip one time so they don't miss anything. They might even incorporate it into their Westminster party games.
Anyone else who got there by idly flipping through the channels in the first place probably won't even notice one more flip that night, or remember exactly how they stumbled across it anyway.

This has happened the last 2 years as well.

The best part is that people who get the West feed of USA get to see hour #1 AFTER hours #2 and #3 air on CNBC (which is East Feed only)

(Pacific Time)

CNBC, East Feed: 6p-8p (Hours #2 and #3)
USA, West Feed: 8p-9p (Hour #1)

Although…CNBC does replay their portion from 9p-11p (PT) so it’s not totally confusing.

So the programming geniuses at Kabletown (formerly G.E., NBC Uni, whatever) have,
for the third year in a row, failed to recognize this goof?

Same screw-up in the Mountain Time Zone if the cable system (cough...Cox Phoenix...cough)
uses left coast feeds: live 7-9 on CNBC, then the first hour delayed 9-10 on USA.

Lets see here. The WWE runs a live two to sometimes three hour show every Monday night...longest running episodic TV show in history...embracing all forms of whatever is hot in pop culture that week, (i.e. Super Bowl, movie stars, etc.) and is usually amongst the top five cable shows each week.

The Westminster Dog Show is once a year and is usually seen by, at best, in total, maybe...maybe...a few million over the few nights its on.

Time to move ito SyFy. After all, if you've seen the way some of those dogs are made up...as well as some of their borderline-obsessive owners who value animals over human beings....I'd say that belongs on a science fiction channel.

Good move? You betcha. CNBC will probably get its highest prime-time ratings to date. If CNN's not careful, the doggies could beat "Piers Morgan Tonight."

At least HD customers have the option of watching the East feed (on USA-HD...don't think they've rolled out a West feed yet for that network.)

Why not put the WWE on SyFy, permanently? After all they carry Friday Night Smackdown.
Doesn't belong on SyFy just as much Smackdown doesn't belong. Not that I care as I don't watch WWE. Hey would Bravo be a better network? Real House Wifes and WWE.

Now in my opinion the network that should have WWE is Spike TV. Monday's for Raw, Thursday's for Smackdown. Thats the network where WWE belongs.

NBC Universial should just move the entire dog show to CNBC and not air it on USA Network anymore.

WWE pretty much started Spike after they left USA the first time, after WWE moved back to USA Spike wanted to be a "man" channel. WWE is fine where it is.

Spike TV the first day that was their goal becoming a man channel. A lot of guys like WWE (not me, i rather watch real sports) so it should have stayed on Spike. Viacom must not have bidded much for NBC Universial to take it back home to USA Network.

Because they've been associated with USA Network for more than 20 (non-consecutive) years, and Monday Night Raw is USA's most reliable TV draw?

I wonder when the "Westminster Dog Show" rights on cable are going to expire for USA/CNBC?, A previous
post suggested it should air on "Animal Planet", this would a excellent fit for them, since they are also
carrying the AKC Dog Championship each year, and they had the highest ratings ever for this year's
"Puppy Bowl".
