Westwood One Makes Valentine's Day

Westwood One made Phil Valentine's day by announcing they are picking up his show for syndication. He's already in Houston, Kansas City, and Cincy, now come Jan. 1 WW1'll be hawking him to other markets.

Geeeeez. Isn't it a bit late in the game to be hauling out yet another unabashed Limbaugh clone?

WW1 is NOT what it used to be and this type of unoriginal programming is part of the problem. Valentine does everything except actually call himself Rush.

There are plenty of conservative choices for syndication, and the majority can run circles around this bumpkin.

While, by pure intention, I am not a member of the Friends of Phil, I see/hear miles of difference between Phil and Rush. Much moreso than between Rush and Hannity and Boortz and Larson and Humphries.

Idunno, maybe it's the bumpkiness that makes him stand apart from the clone crowd. Or maybe it's just that no one else has Johnny B...

You are correct sir, Johnny B or at least another voice or character make talk more interesting. A one person monolog gets boring very fast, usuually leaving you with the opinion the host just loves to hear their own voice (i.e.. Gill)

I give this show 6 months at the most before they throw in the towel. There are already too many conservative hosts trying to get the same piece of the pie, many much better than Valentine. The fact that WW1 is even putting this out there says a lot about WW1's fall from grace as the *premiere* syndicator (no pun intended).

I give it most of the year, but it'll be gone by this time next year. There are too many other conservative options. This guy isn't that good.

All a lot better, and better know than Phil, huh? I hope Phil keeps "things" in check and realizes the line is pretty short
there.

By the way.....

If the Houston station was such a booming success, then why is that station changing to all sports in January?

Spin, spin, spin.
