Westwood One to Cease Distribution of Ben Shapiro Show. Does this mean his show on radio is ending?

Affiliates of Westwood One’s “Ben Shapiro Show” received a letter from company SVP affiliate sales Stuart Greenblatt on Friday (11/18) notifying them that “Westwood One is ceasing distribution of the Ben Shapiro Show. The final episode will air on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.” This plan not to renew the distribution deal between Westwood One and The Daily Wire also includes programs hosted by Michael Knowles and Matt Walsh. No further information is available at press time.
Could this be Soros related?
Thom Hartmann was talking about something similar when the company he helped form air america was bought by one of Mitt Romneys backed companies before the 2012 election and they slowly started replacing the hosts and stations formats with sports programming....

Huh? Soros has no connection to Westwood One or Cumulus, it's owner. Perhaps you're confusing Cumulus with Audacy?

The more likely reason is expense. In the last few weeks, they've made major changes in the shows they distribute.

Shapiro has really cut back on his radio work. The show being dropped is actually his 1-hour podcast.

Okay but Mark Levin is also syndicated by westwood one and was removed from certain audacy stations so thats what made me think it could have been Soros related if they threatened to pull Shapiro from their stations essentially putting pressure on westwood one to move on from shapiro....... I could be completely wrong about this and probably am.

Most likely it was just a cost cutting measure although as you stated but the way I understand it they werent really paying him to do an actual radio show with board op producer call screener etc..... they were just airing the podcast on certain stations whiich im assuming was recorded live? Its aired on quite a few stations including ones like kxnt Las Vegas I think WMAL still KCMO and WLS Chicago to name a few.

Its kind of ironic that he doesnt even take callers considering how much of his career is due to well publicized arguments he had on tv in the early 2000s.

The only Audacy station I'm aware of that ran Levin was WPHT Philadelphia. They replaced him with Fox News Radio host Jimmy Failla.

I'm not aware of any Audacy station that carried Shapiro.

KXNT KNSS KCMO WRVA although some just aired best of on weekends but those are all audacy stations that aired Shapiro's show. As for Levin I thought his show aired on KNSS Wichita's number one talk which is audacy owned.

All of those stations except WRVA still carry Levin.

If Soros was going to turn Audacy talk stations into left-wing outlets, don't you think he would've done that before the election?

If you pay attention to the daily industry news you'd see that Cumulus has been making significant cuts across all aspects of the company and Westwood One this month. Hundreds of people laid off. Lots of syndicated shows ending or being replaced.

There is no conspiracy or anything. It was a business deal.

Soros has no current control over Audacy. The acquisition has not closed.
It did on September 30.
