WESU (FM) has a CP to go 6kw ERP

I was tooling around the nets and ended up at the WESU wikipedia page again and noticed some editor that goes around updating radio sites (even if he knows nothing about a station) to all have that same window box on the right with all the station stats and stuff. Anyhow he added that darn incorrect info that Radio-locator had about a translator in talcoltville for WESU when it's really someone else (I think even radio-locator has corrected it by now). After taking out the entry and leaving a note why, I stopped off at the FCC database file on WESU and it appears they now have a CP for 6kw on a diretional antenna. Nice to see that NPR money being put to use.

Wait a minute, 6kw at about 4 blocks away??? Oh boy, I'm glad to be switching from cable at this point, Comcast used to have tons of leakage problems before, now how busy are those cable installers going to be when they have to replace a ton more drops.

Yeah, I was thinking about that as I responded to your thread about them.

It's not like they can file a complaint with the FCC about the "Great 88" overpowering them. Maybe they will choose a decent frequency soon. Hey, I know. 99.5 is pretty good, terrain blocks them from messing up Storrs; NYC, Boston and Albany are too far away to have a problem, and adjacents are pretty clear in that area too.

Not to mention they can't be picked up out here in Middletown, so if a certain now part 95 level station were to return (not gonna happen!), it wouldn't bother it for the half block range it has now.
