WEZL dead air?

While listening to WEZL this afternoon, around 05:45 they went out of a song and in to dead air for at least 3 minutes.
Then a voice track played and more dead air.
Then a clip of a Brad Pasley song, and more dead air.
Finally they joined a comercial in progress and things resumed as normal.
Same thing happened on 104.5 also.
Wow CC Charleston has it together.

Sounds like a Clear Channel problem. Over in Connecticut KC 101.3 just played for commericals about an hour I believe they said on a post in the Connecticut board. Also Q 104.3 in New York City was off the air for awhile overnight as they just moved the stations studio in NYC.

Anyways, maybe The Wolfs have been getting into the wires at 103.5 WEZL lol.

Dead air on a station. I'm not sure that corporate controls that. It's easy for Geek and Ken to take a swipe at CC. Each group of stations Nationally, or within a State is run differently. Many times, it comes down to individuals. Most Engineers and IT are overworked in today's radio age. That dead air could have been their fault, or it could have been talent asleep at the switch. It happens to all stations. It's not if.......,but when.

I'm glad we had some time to discuss this silence.

Cumulus Myrtle Beach is bad on dead air. Just check out Hot 100 or 98.5 KISS-FM sometime. Just lastnite Hot 100 was off the air for sometime and 98.5 KISS-FM the same way.

Sounds par for the course to me.. How many people are in that building now 7 or 8? including sales. To cut costs, they should move their operations to Raleigh.

I guess that would have been a good time to check for any noises in the background on their signal.
