WFAA/8 new lower-third newscast graphics, different logo presentation

In the past week or so, new lettering graphics have appeared on News8's newscasts, as well as a different treatment of the newscast logo bug: http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/7658/news8newgraphics.jpg

There are new go-to-the-story bumper graphics also, and several times as they go to a commercial, instead of the newscast title, Ch.8 shows their station logo and COL/metro as a bumper. One thing I like about the new lower-third graphics--they're MUCH much easier to read than the tiny lettering in the previous graphics style.

interesting to note as well: they are no longer 4x3 safe. they are designed for 16x9 HD screens and some parts are cut off on 4x3 screens.

KVUE, WFAA's sister station in Austin, rolled out a virtually identical graphics package on Friday. A few small differences, including the time, temp and stocks being shown on a bottom-of-the-screen ticker instead of as part of the bug. Also, the bug alternates between the KVUE logo and their slogan 'Where Tust is Earned' instead of showing their website URL, like WFAA does.

This follows on the heels of the Fox stations starting a new graphics package a few weeks ago.
I'm not sure all these graphics changes make much difference to the viewer.
What I do find interesting is that Channel 8's time/temp bug has gotten bigger while Fox 4's got much smaller. (no more rotating box)

KHOU has just recently rolled out its Belo-Based graphics package today with its 4:00PM newscast, which is pretty much mirrors identically with its other Belo stations in Texas, except KVUE.
