WFAA gaffes again

During the noon news, Cynthia Vega doing a live shot at the K-LUV studios mentioned Ron Chapman's sign-off song was the, 'Beatles, Turn, Turn, Turn.' Sheesh. She had THREE hours to prep for that report. Couldn't she have researched and made sure she knew it was the Byrds?

What crap!

She [CV] is nothing more than a dumbass CU Next Time kind of female. Who the hell does she think she is? That's right, someone who is lazy AND works for Belo(w). One could think of this as a double whammy.

Well let's see John and Paul said in 1965 That the Byrds were their favorite American Group, so there is a connection.:):):) Preperation ? At WFAA??Are you serious???The only thing they are preparing right now is more pictures of Pete with his wife and kids at 5P, because "viewers have asked for them"(MACIE)and were told by management to show them. WFAA where once upon a time they had journalism, and journalists who prepped and researched a long long time ago and far far away.

Well, damn, she misspoke! How dare she go and do a thing like that?

Your constant harping on every little thing 'FAA does cracks me up. If I were Belo management I'd be glad you're watching every night, if nothing else. However, for your sake I hope you don't have your own moment in the on-air spotlight anytime soon, because you would have to live up to an unattainable standard of perfection to avoid hypocrisy in light of your posts.

Well thanks! I am glad you are amused, considering I didn't start this thread. Must be difficult being a Belo employee now days huh?

While I would agree that the technical errors, etc at WFAA are dragging the station down, for whatever it's worth NBC 5 is far worse these days than 8.....and they are the # 1rated newscast for the most part in this town. Have you watched them lately? They are way overrated. That is also a commentary on the state of local TV news in general across the country.

CH.5 is indeed bad. MIke is getting so much like "Ted Baxter' everyday, and Jane is smug enough to know she will not be replaced soon. Finfrock is the only redeeming person on the newscast. The news is pure tabloid mixed in with a very bad high school drama class.

Good way to sum it up. Perhaps fix the gaffes with gaffer tape. No, it would take much more than that. Getting some decent people comes to mind. Start with exiting Jane and Mike.

Ron Chapman coverage?

Went on-line to see the WFAA piece on Chapman. I was stuck in traffic and listened to his last hour, and I thought he said there were a few stations in there with cameras. Did any other TV station run footage of the goodbye?
THANKS!

One angle Channel 8 showed, there were at least 4 TV cameras lined up in there, not counting their own.
