Well good luck. I hope Kathy and Dave Muscari do not make him the Chief Meterologist down the road. Steve and Greg have earned the right, especially Steve. Given Wfaa's recent quality, I wouldn't be shocked.

I certainly hope troys heir apparant will be steve, with this guy moving into either a AM/Noon slot or the 5.

Okay, the guy's not bad. Personable, smooth. He and the wife and kids ate burgers at Troy's house. He blew out his elbow, otherwise he could've been a major league pitcher.

But I agree that Steve should be the senior weatherman when the time comes.

He is the hier apparent to Troy, so get over it. WCPO didn't even promote their two resident mets to assume Pete's position when he departed for FAA.

My 1st impression is that he's a bit green, however I believe he will do.

He's tall, good looking and has a square jaw. What more does FAA want? Experience with Texas weather, viewer loyalty, community indentification mean anything? Steve is number one...or he ought to be looking. Just MHO

Being a bit green, saves Belo(w) a lot of "Green", so they are all for that these days. They forgot an old slogan...

"The Bitterness of Poor Quality Lingers Long After the Sweetness Of Low-Price is Long Forgotten."

Another example of that, is NBC's Master Control hub operations. But that's another post. <P ID="signature">______________

Did they hold auditions for the job?

Did WFAA hold on air auditions for the position like fellow Belo station KTVK in Phoenix. 3-TV had a Weather Wannabe contest during sweeps and had three potential forecasters audition on the weekend 5 and 10pm newscasts. Management solicited comments from the viewers on the stations website, AZFamily.com.

To date, they have not hired a replacement weekend weatherperson.

C'mon, people. Pete is the heir-apparent. He was a CHIEF in Cincinnati (decent sized market). Why would he be given the noon and 5pm, if he were not the anointed Troy replacement? If Steve were the one, he would have been given the noon and 5pm slot. D'uh!!!!

Okay, I guess we're all in denial here. What you say is true, but a lot of us were rooting for Steve, the home-team guy, who has proven his value over the years. Give Pete a chance? Okay, if we have to.
