WFAA Prefers Shaking Breasts To Public Safety (flame)

And yet, after all the mushroom cloud fallout from this, Ch.8 is running 2 different commercials. One saying how much better their weather is (than?), the other pats themselves on the back for alerting viewers when severe weather strikes.

(and now, back to the hiding under my desk waiting for thrown eggs and tomatoes show 8) )

Indeed. Wednesday of last week they turned their 10pm news into a "tornado outbreak" special. This kept it from getting counted in the 10pm averages for the May sweeps period. They knew the numbers would be low because ABC's numbers would be hurt by American Idol and the Mavs game. But the whole show came across like a child who had been caught doing something wrong and trying to say "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm SORRY!" before a paddling. Channel 8 knows they blew it by staying with the dancing show when Dallas, Tarrant and Denton counties all had TORNADO WARNINGS in effect. They tried to make up for it last Wednesday night and now they're trying to pretend it didn't happen with these new promos. Sadly, it'll probably work.
