Tonight's lead story at 10pm on Channel 8 was about a pit bull puppy stuck in a hole. They did a live shot on it.
I would loved to have heard more about the drug/people smuggler arrested earlier today... or the Amish killing.. or ANYTHING.. before hearing about a dog stuck in a hole. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs. My pets are a part of my family. But this was just not worthy of being a lead story.

Worse, channel 8 had one of their new hires doing the story. The tall thin blond.. Chirs Hawes is her name I think. She's terrible. The only new hire they've got with any talent at all is Shelly Slater, the new weekend anchor.

It's hard to watch this station anymore. Everytime I think they can't possibly get worse, they do. How sad.
 
That was a pretty lame first story for Channel 8 last night.

How bad is the Dallas TV news? Is it as bad as I have heard on these boards? I would be suprised that Belo would allow shenanigans on their flagship. Have you considered turning the radio on KRLD or WBAP instead?
 
Obviously, they're not following the "If it bleeds, it leads" motto...
