Have read many places that ABC and Fox use 720p, NBC, CBS and PBS use 1080i. But local WFAA is always 1080i, so does WFAA upconvert ABC network to 1080i?
Thanks. Got to wondering about it today when a friend in AZ mentioned to me their local Fox affiliate "finally went" to 1080i. But Fox is 720p. I suppose they would do this because they prefer to do all local stuff in 1080i and keep it consistent, and maybe alleviate people calling all the time asking why they are not in 1080i. I wonder if anything gets lost in the extra conversion process?
It sure as hell does down here in Austin at KVUE. Quick pans during football games break up over crowd shots, etc. There are folks in south Austin who have put up antennas to watch KSAT from San Antonio due to the issues.
