WFAA'S ED HOGAN DEAD

M

The affable host of "Dialing for Dollars" and other Channel 8 shows, along with anchor and announcing duties for WFAA radio and TV since 1950, died Monday 2/12 on his 86th birthday of congestive heart failure. Ed also worked for the old KWBC-970 in Fort Worth as a newsman and announcer.

Another legendary fixture like Icky Twerp,Harold Taft. Sad.

I was watching Dialing for Dollars and Ed had a young actor with him during a couple breaks. The actor was James Brolin and he was on a promotional tour for a new show Marcus Welby MD. Ed's first question was something like, what is it like to work with a veteran actor like Robert Young. James' response was something like, I don't know man, this is like my 20th city and I'm bombed.

Unruffled, Ed took it to break.

RIP Ed, you were a class act.
