WFAI 1510 is now Jammin' 96.9/ 1510 WVJJ

Forever Media has flipped former gospel radio WFAI 1510 to a classic Urban RnB formatted Jammin' 96.9 (translator in Wilmington) 1510 WVJJ.

But on Thursday, during the thunderstorms that rolled through, it knocked WVJJ off air. Friday the workers and cheif engineer (and personal good friend) Dana Puoplo went out to the site and restored the station and is back on air.

It's great to have an AM outlet for classic RnB, although the 1510 signal has always been a radio station for the fishes in the delaware river. Since I myself live up near Philly, the signal is basically absent, so you can also hear WVJJ on WSTW-HD3 93.7.

Wonder if this translator makes it to Philly. I was down there early this month and normally on 96.9, I can only hear WFPG with a slightly faint but decent signal, but not this new WFAI translator.

The signal is VERY directional to the south, so it puts no signal over Philly, and barely anything into Pennsylvania. It's listed as being on the WJBR tower, with an application to move slightly to the WSTW tower.

Plus there is W245AG Glenside on the WISX/WPEN tower.
