WFAN Mornings - What's next?

Enough Imus threads. Although it did knock down the Doghouse astroturf thread to the second page, so some good came out of it.

That being said, how does WFAN move on? Do they continue with a news-tertainment show in the mornings, or do they go all sports?

I'm willing to bet 10 bucks it's be Neer in the mornings in an interim role come Monday. He did it before after the Sex for Sam debacle.

Give the morning slot to Jerry from Queens! :D

I think we're all in agreement that Ira from Westchester is out of the equation...

Mike and the Mad Dog are it.

No. The station's chemistry is already screwed up. Why would you take the only stable highly rated daypart and shift it to mornings? No chance. Besides, you have to stay up late to catch all the sports, and I don't think they'd be up for it.

Someone said elsewhere on this board it's going to be Mike Barnicle. I'm not sure if I like that or not. I think using a more familiar voice from the FAN would be better.

Are you serious?? Do you really think that Francesa is going to LITERALLY roll out of bed at 4 in the morning to get to work??

That was an interesting post though cause it forced me to think of that situation if it happened. And just as a listener of their show, I have to say that the thought of waking up to the sound of Russo's voice is beyond scary. I can tolerate it after I've been up for 6 hours but I would NEVER listen to him in the morning. Plus, guys screaming all passionately about sports at 7 in the morning is actually a little creepy. Save that for afternoon drive.

M&MD are doing double shifts for the next two weeks on a temporary basis. Then I'm willing to wager it'll be either Sports/News in the morning with Neer and McCord, or something more in-line with the fan.

And Somers has a semi-regular shift, probably the best time, right after the game. It's about 3 1/2 hours a night... not bad.
