The station has become stale in my opinion. The verve and excitement that once dominated the signal is less frequent nowadays. I'm not of the opinion that the loss of the Imus show has anything to really do with this because the imminent departure of Imus was going to happen at sometime anyway.
Boomer & Carton is not a good show from a listener standpoint, although I believe it is making money for the CBS suits and that's really all that matters to them.
Joe Beningo and that kid are a terrible mixture because of the vast age difference between them. Beningo is actually a sometimes refreshing voice, but the kid needs to go, he is not a good listen at all.
Mike & the Dog are mainstays, but Fatcessa is really becoming a blow hard of major proportions and needs a reality check all too often.
The station needs more in the way of direct and or confrontational hosts, people who are not so willing to sit in front of a microphone and zoom through 30 calls an hour. How about some people who are able to carry a show each hour with their own thoughts and views without having to rely on a million calls every time they hit the air?
WFAN is still good, still the best in NYC at what they do (1050 is awful) but they need a shake up and some new voices who provide more than the predictable talkers they now employ.
