Evan Roberts announced Yesterday Afternoon that starting Next Saturday May 31. Joe Benigno will be taking Richard Neer’s Place. But Richard Neer will always be in the family

Richard Neer said earlier this morning he won’t be on Saturday’s anymore, He will be around for Holidays. He mentioned it wasn’t his choice but it is what it is. I’m happy the gave him time to say Goodbye

I worked with Richard -- he was "Dick Neer" on air back in those days -- at the suburban Long Island station that preceded him getting his first break in NYC. He had class even back then. (And this was 55 years ago, so we were all young pups at the time.) I wish him luck, health, and full nights' sleep.

I worked for ad agencies as a broadcast time buyer for many different clients. Saturday mornings were not exactly a major ratings area, in fact, that time slot was frequently where we got free/bonus spots in addition to the rest of a campaign so since Richard said it was not his choice I don’t understand why the shake-up.
And while I’m at it although I like Joe B., even tho he doesn’t get into politics he does make subtle comments indicative of his conservative bordering on very right-wing political beliefs.
