WFAN's Sid Rosenberg resigns...

As much as I disagreed with his radio ethics Sid had lots of Sports knowledge and was starting to state them better after working with Joe. B. I hope though everything is O'kay.

If this is true, then WFAN may have lost its next big star... For all the criticism he took (and in many cases earned), he was one of those rare talents who could sound like he knew what he was talking about, engaged the audience, was respectful to callers without beign borimg (he didn't need to talk down to them or insult them), and he knew how to take a dive and play the "stooge" to benefit the program.
Again, if this is true, another radio station would be smart to pick him up (if one hasn't already).

Looks like the original "Mac and Sid" program is completely gone, even though Mac hasn't been on a while.

And Jody Mac is headed back to Philly for the 3:00-7:00 shift starting in October. Maybe Sid will be joining him here on WPEN?

Sid Rosenberg is a suicidal mental case. He needs to check himself into a looney bin before he even thinks about doing anything else in his career.

Sid's Catch 22 is that he's hired to make outreageous statements but once he actually does it, he has to be fired for it. You know what you are getting.

Apparently, Sid is back on the drugs again, big time. Rehab frequently does not work the first time - the addict gets out, starts using again, and hits a lower bottom than before. He doesn't need a looney bin, he needs a rehab place that works. Until he does that, he will not get another sports gig. His resignation is more of a "here sign this letter- you're resigning." WFAN had to let him go.

Sid's problem was accepting a gig to work at an FHM party in Atlantic City.
That is one city that Sid should stay FAR AWAY FROM!

According to the radio column in today's (Wed.) Daily News, the problem is what you pointed out. The AC gig did him in. And it was resign or be fired.
