When is WFAS-FM moving to its new NYC location in terms of the signal?????Will it stay AC????radio-locator's contour map shows the new coverage area going into brooklyn----there is a pirate on 103.9 now in a good part of brooklyn---what is going to be done about it????????

No idea when they're going to move to the new tower site, but even with the old tower site, their signal would make it, weakly, into Brooklyn, at least before the pirates sprouted up everywhere.
As for what will happen to the pirate on 103.9? Probably nothing. They're beginning to fill up the first-adjacent frequencies now too (106.9, 91.3, 94.5, 88.5, 89.7, 89.3, and others have already done so).

If I had to venture a guess, it's because 1) when Cumulus tried to make it a move in station sale prices were at an all time high...now it might make more financial sense to keep and run WFAS than to sell it, and 2) Cumulus now owns WPLJ & WABC.....the need to make another NYC stick is now greatly reduced in their eyes

Fordham never had any transmitter site atop 1WTC. The old, old site was on top of Keating Hall on campus. They then realized that they were irradiating everyone in the top floors of Keating Hall and also those in the apartments that had grown up taller than the tower. Those folks were in the main beam of 48kW, not too far away. My dad had a friend where WFUV came through their toaster oven.
They then secured the CP to build a 440 foot tower on the one end of campus, around the mid 90's. The Botanical Gardens put up a stink so they stopped construction at 1/2 height, while the lawsuits were sorted out. This dragged on for 7 or 8 years if I remember right. They ran a 2 bay from the top of the half a tower at half power.
Finally, they built the tower on top of the medical center. WVIP moved in and WFAS has it built but not on.

If WFAS is still indeed for sale after several years have passed (and it probably is, if Cumulus has a facility waiting for it in the Bronx), this would indicate to me that Cumulus is asking for an unreali$tic amount, or the radio market is rather soft.
I see in the new Hudson Valley book, that fellow A/C station WHUD is clobbering WFAS/WFAF in the ratings. WLTW also has higher ratings, in the 4 counties that comprise the Hudson Valley market.

I remember reading somewhere that EMF wanted 103.9 but the price was too high.....They ended up going with 96.7 which by btw puts out a great signal from their new location (just wish there was better format).....Anyway I also read somewhere that when Cumulus announced they were going to purchase Citadel, they took 103.9 off the market....Not sure if its back on sale but I think it would be smart to keep it and move it in with WPLJ & WABC.
