WFBG-WVAM interference

So I'm trying to catch "Meet the Press" this afternoon on 1290/WFBG because I missed it this morning on TV. And listening from Duncansville it sounds like Condi Rice has a tic, 'cause every few seconds there's a phttt, phttt obliterating every answer. So I hop in the car to run some errands and roll up Pleasant Valley and it just gets worse, til finally I can identify the baseball game from 1430/WVAM overwhelming 1290. Now that they're both Forever properties, can't the engineers do something about this? Or are AM stations down so far on the totem pole that they just don't give a sh*t?
 
There are areas in Altoona where it is especially bad, along Logan Blvd for example. I believe it was like that before Forever acquired WVAM. It probably isn't high their list of priorities.
