wfbo makes the move.

Hey guys. was on cflradio and found out that wfbo will make the move from 93.3 to 97.7. That's great for them because i heard that 93.3 from jax was hoping to move farther in to the jacksonville listening area. Now with wfbo on 97.7 they will probably have a better signal. no interference as far as i know. 97.9 from jax is weak in flagler so no worries. So good luck to wfbo on this new freq. you guys will have to keep me informed because i do not go to that area much anymore. Just figured i would pass the word on. Thanks to Bob from cflradio again for the info.

April 4th at 6 AM is the time/date for the switchover. WFBO-LP will have the same power level and height. The antenna will be switched and then a bunch of buttons pushed on the transmitter and viola. I'm proud to be turning the nuts and bolts and pushing the buttons to make the change for them.

The 97.7 Frequency, with the ol' WRRX Micanopy moved and St. Augustine having moved to 97.9 and then relocating to Neptune Beach - Jax, it is a great channel with no-co channel interference that had plagued WFBO-LP from the onset with Jax (Callahan) and WFLZ Tampa getting out better than theoretical range, then there's DX, Ducting, Temperature inversion, that has made things tough. If you had a radio at the WFBO-LP transmitter and flipped it off, WHAM! 93.3 WJBT Jacksonville comes in like gangbusters.

wow. i guess 93.3 must have upgraded then. That's amazing 93.3 blares in there in flagler. well 97.7 is a great freq for wfbo. maybe i can dx from altamonte one night and get it. doubt it but it doesn't hurt to think. As i said, good luck to the guys at wfbo on this new freq. i think it will help them a great deal. you guys will have to let me knowhow it all works out.

The flip to 97.7 was this morning. With no interference on this channel, it appears that they've doubled their coverage. Folks were calling in from Ormond and Daytona this morning, and north to parts of St. Augustine. Their website got a face lift as well at wwwtheblizzard.us

damn. that's awesome for them. i'm glad to hear. i'm goign ot start dxing and hope i can get it. i'm kinda far from flagler but i bet one day i may get it. i'm in altamonte. i've gotten jax stations here before. so i'll keep my ear on 97.7. good luck to wfbo. i know this freq is way better.
