WFBS Radio Smiles Berwick PA

WFBS 1280 AM in Berwick is now FOX Sports Radio. Teamed up with the other Bold Gold stations that include WICK 1400 in Scranton, WYCK 1340 in Plains Twp., and WPSN 1590 in Honesdale.

Kevin Fennessey who left town to be Production Manager for Salem's NYC stations WMCA/WWDJ was let go awhile back and has resurfaced in the Ocala, FL area as GSM for WRZN 720 AM (Pamal Broadcasting). It's a Adult Standards station.

I wish him and Joanne the best in sunny Florida.

Thanks for the info. I wonder where the jingle package for WFBS went. I was one of the many GI's stationed at Ft. Bragg NC. in the 60's who worked at WFBS when it was assigned to Spring Lake NC just outside Pope AFB. It would be great to get a jingle or two.

Thanks for remembering. I was downsized out of WMCA, New York last November, and am GM of WRZN-AM for Pamal Broadcasting in Ocala FL. I'm accomplishing a lot, but I miss my wife who could not join me...we're doing marriage by Jet Blue and Web Cam.

I have the jingles from the PAMS masters, which were licensed to me by KenR; plus all of the edits I made and aired at WFBS that aired in Pennsylvania. Just email me and I'll send you a set.

My brother Rich did basic at Ft. Bragg, and that's how I became aware of the station...and when we wanted to brand what we were doing with 1280 in Berwick, the call sign WFBS and the moniker Radio Smiles were a fit.

Kevin,

Good to hear that you are doing well. I looked at your station in Scranton a while back and met you there, but ultimately decided to stay within our market. Quite the commute from Johnstown to Scranton. Not as dramatic as Florida to PA though. I'll follow up off the board. Take care.
